Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 April 2026

Wyro Events ("we", "us", "our") operates the website and application at wyroevents.com ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Event information: event details such as event name, date, location, and description.
  • Guest information: names, email addresses, RSVP responses, dietary requirements, and other details you or your guests provide through the Service.
  • Communications: any messages or enquiries you send to us.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general interaction with the Service, collected anonymously via Vercel Analytics.
  • Performance data: Core Web Vitals and page load metrics, collected anonymously via Vercel Speed Insights.
  • Device and browser information: browser type, operating system, and device type.
  • Error diagnostics: if the Service encounters an error, we log a stack trace and limited request context to Sentry to help us diagnose and fix bugs.
  • Cookies: see our Cookie Policy for the full list.

1a. Payment Information

When you purchase a paid plan or add-on, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number, CVC, or other sensitive payment credentials — Stripe handles those directly. We receive only a transaction reference, the last four digits of the card, and metadata about the purchase (event ID, plan tier).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Send transactional emails related to your events (e.g., invitations, RSVP confirmations, event updates) via our email provider.
  • Respond to your enquiries and provide support.
  • Monitor and improve the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for marketing purposes unless you explicitly opt in.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We use the following third-party service providers to operate the platform. Each provider only accesses information as necessary to perform services on our behalf and is contractually obligated to protect it:

  • Vercel (United States) — application hosting, edge networking, anonymous analytics, and Core Web Vitals (Speed Insights).
  • Supabase (hosted in Australia/Sydney) — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Stripe (United States/Australia) — payment processing for paid plans and add-ons.
  • Resend (United States) — transactional and bulk email delivery (invitations, RSVP confirmations, owner alerts, password resets).
  • Twilio (United States/Australia) — SMS delivery for invitations and bulk messaging on the Premium plan.
  • Sentry (United States) — error tracking and diagnostic logging.
  • Cloudflare (global) — Turnstile bot/CAPTCHA verification on signup and sign-in.
  • Google (United States) — Google Cloud OAuth provider when you choose to sign in with Google, and the Gemini API for the Premium AI planning assistant. Guest event data sent to the assistant is not used by Google to train models.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia (primarily the United States). By using the Service you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions, subject to the protections required by the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may also share your information with:

  • Event guests: when you create an event and invite guests, certain event details (event name, date, location, and other details you choose to include) are shared with those guests.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Successors: if Wyro Events is acquired, merged, or otherwise transferred, your information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure authentication.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.
  • Complain to us or to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy has been breached.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@wyroevents.com.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain it.

Guest information associated with an event is retained for as long as the event organiser maintains their account and the relevant event.

7. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
